Bell cables manufactured by Superior Essex are most often requested for outdoor use by "spin-off" companies of AT&T, often referred to as Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOC). Bell cable designs specify "bare" or uncoated shields for most products but allow the use of coated steel, in some armored designs.
