- In detail
The direct cost of atmospheric corrosion initiative of oxygen, moisture, and acid type compounds in metals and alloys is estimated at 5 billion annually. The use of VCI (Vapor Corrosive Inhibitors) is one way to protect these metals from corrosion. These VCI products emit a vapor that condenses on the surface of the part and forms a corrosion-inhibiting layer. This product is free from nitrates with no adverse effect in use.
Cel-Span® 720N is a VCI/or anti-corrosion inhibitor concentrated in pellet form in a polyolefins base resin.

Film Properties
Heat sealable with standard equipment. However, bags or sheets can be tied, folded, taped or stapled for protection equivalent to a heat sealable enclosure. The VCI film does not have to be in contact with the metal to protect, the vapors travel to all portions of the enclosure.
Other Remarks
Anti-corrosion properties are activated immediately after the production of the film. VCI films exhibit anti-corrosion of properties at temperatures below 5 ºC/41 ºF. Optimum protection effect is best when objects are completely sealed within the film.
Toxicity & Packaging
No adverse health effects from the use of the VCI additives in Cel-Span® 720N are known. All additives in the formulation are listed on the GRAS & TOSCA approved. This product is free from nitrates and there are no known adverse effects on the working environment. Packaged in 220 lb.foil lined fiber drums.
