Coil Upender

Capacity
The Kentex coil upender supports and upends coils weighing up to 20,000 pounds. Larger or smaller capacity models are available.

Rotation Power
The upender is powered by a gear-reduced electric drive system. The final drive system is a double, heavy chain with 4:1 safety factor. The upender drive system is sized to allow stopping the upender at a partially rotated position without "backdriving". Sprockets and chain tensioners are hardened for long life.

Fabrication
All upender parts are fabricated from heavy structural steel sections. The flat surface portion of the upender includes adjustment bolts to ensure rigid support when placing pallets on the flat surface. The upender portion supporting the coil in the eye horizontal position includes a 'V' surface to prevent accidental coil rotation, and drops to the floor.

Controls
Upender controls are housed in a NEMA 12 enclosure mounted on one side. The controls' location can be user-specified for the most logical operation at the respective plant location. Limit switches automatically stop upender operation at the end of rotation travel.

Electrical Supply
The upender requires three-phase electrical supply. The upender is normally operated from 230/3/60 or 460/3/60 supply. Other voltages and hertz are available as an option.

Upender Finish
After fabrication completion, the upender is machine-cleaned and powder-coated. The typical finish includes two contrasting colors, such as royal blue and gloss black. A "typical" color selection range is offered.

Availability
The typical delivery schedule is 8-10 weeks after the receipt of a firm order and deposit. The delivery schedule varies according to our backlog.
